Join the Generation who are Rising

On April 11th, 2015 students and young people from around the state of maine will converge in Augusta and march to demand climate justice and a clean energy future.

We are calling this action Generation Climate Rising.

Join us in bringing 1,000 students together and young people from around the state to put forth our vision of a Maine economy that works for people and the planet. We are going to tell our climate denying governor and our slow moving legislature that if they can’t act to mitigate climate change, we will.

We are demanding that no new fossil fuel infrastructure be built in the state of Maine. The more we invest in fossil fuels, the more we are consigning ourselves to climate disaster, and the more we are complicit in the human rights abuses of the fossil fuel industry.

Climate change is already hurting people in Maine, especially those reliant on the agriculture, marine and winter tourism economies. We demand investment in locally and democratically controlled clean energy systems.

We believe that another world is possible. We believe young people can lead the way in Maine.
